About Us

Earth Images Ltd. was formed by three people with different, but complementary skills and expertise - and a shared passion for these wonderful images.

Professor Richard Weston

Richard is a renowned architect and author as well as Professor of Architecture at the Welsh School of Architecture, Cardiff University.

As part of the FutureWorld exhibition, he designed and built Radiant House, which was conceived as an inhabitable walled garden with a plywood roof floating on structural glass. He has also designed a wonderfully original Triangular House among other highly creative designs, and is now working on lamps and furniture. His work has been exhibited on several occasions in the Summer Exhibition of the Royal Academy of Arts.

Richard's books include Modernism, winner of the International Book Award of the American Institute of Architects, and what has been described as possibly the finest monograph ever produced about an architect, on the work of Jørn Utzon, architect of Sydney Opera House.

His passion for mineral images began when he bought an ammonite that cost more than his scanner: the results were dreadful - and the scanner now used cost rather more than many ammonites - but the results are wonderful. They often demand a great deal of time to produce: preparing the minerals, taking scan after scan, and then digitally removing blemishes left by polishing powder and dust. Only a tiny minority have made it into this online collection. Without his passion, Richard could not possibly have amassed such a large collection of world class images - and you wouldn't be reading this today.

Martin Price

Martin and Richard have known each other for well over a decade, and shared many a conversation on matters creatively crazy and commercially impossible! However, Martin's entrepreneurial instincts were really ignited by the potential of these images. He has been actively involved in the development of several diverse businesses (tour operating, active leisure and private member business clubs to name but a few) as well as advising clients, including Blenheim Palace, Channel Four, Ford and Virgin on business development strategies. He has considerable experience in online businesses, too.

Gina Cherrett

Gina brings the “art” in Earth to the company. She is currently studying for a degree in the History of Art, and passionate about the world enjoying these images - which is not surprising as her “day job” is as a PR and marketing consultant. Equally unsurprising is the extent of the media coverage that has been, and is being generated for Earth Images. “It's a PR dream” she says, hastening to add that it still demands lots of perseverance and enthusiasm.

Helen Price

Helen has a background in the travel industry, originally organising travel for rock bands, and more recently managing independent walking and touring holidays in New England for the award winning tour operator, Inntravel. Helen is Business Manager, and runs the business day-to-day as well as being keen to develop partnerships with other businesses that could apply the images.

The Company

This is an owner managed business, and the directors and shareholders are Richard, Martin and Gina - each of whom has a hands-on role in the development and managing of the business. The offices are in Effingham, Surrey.
