Agate 124 » Add to Gallery The basic banding structure of this agate formed by crystallisation in a void in a rock, but the teeming complexity of many of its details are impossible to explain. Size: 7cm. Scanned by transmitted light, this image has a layered quality, suggesting a shallow three-dimensional space teeming with activity so intricate that one can only wonder how it formed.
